Yuri Salzman
 If you are looking for Yuri Salzman, chances are you will find him
working in his studio to the sounds of classical music and jazz. Yuri
says he doesn't like to take time away from his art. When he goes
out of town, he always brings artwork with him. "I can't go ten days
and do nothing!" Born in Moscow to parents who were both artists,
Yuri began to draw when he was six years old. He says that it was
common then for children to begin training at a young age. In the
sixth grade he began to attend art school. Today, an internationally
recognized illustrator of over fifty children's books, Yuri works
in the mixed media of watercolor, colored pencils, pen and ink as
well as producing his unique wood-carving illustrations. Next to his
art, Yuri's other passion is his love of classical music which he
shares with his son and wife who are both professional musicians.
Yuri's favorite season is Autumn.
