Sharon Olexa
Crandall knows children. This former pediatric nurse has taken
her love of children, music, and creative writing to present a tale
that introduces the reader to Owlie, Oakie, Foxy and other inhabitants
of the forest. These creature children of the forest combine their
efforts over a year's seasons to put together a harmonious concert
using their native talents. The author has teamed up with artist
Yuri Salzman
and music composed by Vivaldi
to produce a work evocative of Peter Rabbit and other beloved classics.
This story is an artful primer on how youngsters can get along,
resolve their differences and work together for the good of all
to create a harmony of spirit.
Sharon selected the music of Vivaldi's four concertos, "The
Four Seasons" because she thought that children would really
like hearing the violin.
